Transgender and Gender Affirming Massage Therapy in Seattle |       LGBTQ+ Care & Inclusivity

Supportive, clinically informed massage therapy for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients at every stage of transition, recovery, and self-discovery.

Why Trans and Gender Affirming Massage Matters

Trans and Gender Massage

For many people, gender discovery and transition can involve significant physical and emotional changes. Hormone therapy, binding or tucking, surgical recovery, changes in posture and movement patterns, and increased stress on the nervous system. These are all factors that can affect how your transition journey goes.

Gender affirming massage therapy can help support comfort and self-realigning, scar tissue management, and overall physical wellbeing during these stages. Sessions may help reduce muscular tension, improve mobility, support post-surgical recovery, decrease stress-related symptoms, and provide a safer opportunity to reconnect with the body in a supportive environment.

Massage care during any stage of gender transition or discovery

Before Transition

For many people, starting massage therapy can feel unfamiliar or even vulnerable at first. Your comfort, boundaries, and sense of safety are always respected. Massage can provide support for stress management, chronic tension, sensory regulation, and body awareness before any social or medical transition begins. Sessions are guided at your pace, with clear communication and consent throughout, so you can feel supported whether this is your first massage or one of many.

During Hormone Therapy

During Hormone Therapy

With the onset and ongoing adjustments from hormone therapy, many changes will occur. Shifts in muscle tone, tissue sensitivity, posture, and emotional stress can affect how the body feels and functions. Sessions are adapted to your comfort level and physical needs as your body changes over time.

You are never expected to explain or justify your body, identity, or experiences in order to receive care. The goal is to create a welcoming, affirming environment where you can relax, ask questions, and receive treatment that honors your individual needs.

Post Operative Recovery

Massage and manual lymphatic techniques may support circulation, swelling reduction, scar mobility, tissue flexibility, and overall recovery following top surgery and gender-affirming procedures when medically appropriate. Sessions can begin relatively soon after surgery with provider clearance, but can also remain beneficial years later for scar tissue restrictions, discomfort, and mobility concerns.
